KOREAN LAMINATION WITH INLEI® LASH FILLER 25.9 PRODUCTS: COMPLETE STEP-BY-STEP PROTOCOL

Korean lash lift is a technique that differs from the classic lash lift in the way the lashes are processed and positioned. The good news is that you do not need to purchase a new product line: we have been testing the compatibility of InLei® products with this technique for over a year and have achieved excellent results on all hair types.

Before you begin, we recommend reading our article about the differences between cysteamine and ammonium thioglycolate in Korean lamination, where we explain why both active ingredients can be successfully used.

BELOW YOU WILL FIND THE COMPLETE 10-STEP WORKING PROTOCOL.

1. PREPARE THE LASHES

Thoroughly cleanse the lashes with InLei® Saline Pre-treatment and secure the lower lashes using a special silicone patch such as the InLei® Black Pad. It is essential to use a silicone pad (and not disposable patches) to protect the skin and prevent the solutions from coming into contact with it.

Stap 1

2. APPLY THE LASH PERMING SOLUTION

For this step of Korean lamination, there are two available methods:

  • METHOD 1
Apply InLei® Lash Form 1 by gently pressing the lashes onto the patch, making sure the surface is evenly covered while maintaining a 1 mm distance from the eyelid.
  • For stronger and more resistant hairs, 10–20% InLei® S-Powder can be added.

Note:
When the lashes are lifted onto a shield, the hair is exposed to tension, making it more likely to absorb the product quickly. When the lashes are laid on an under-eye patch instead, they remain in their natural position and absorb the product more slowly. In this case, the processing time may range from 10–20 minutes.

METHOD 2

Apply InLei® Lash Form 1 mixed with 10–20% InLei® S-Powder, and pull the lashes back onto an intermediate shield or silicone patch such as the InLei® Black Pad.

Stap 2
3. REMOVE THE PRODUCT FROM THE TIPS

Remove the product from the lash tips within a maximum of 5 minutes after application (depending on the hair structure) using a small brush. Then gently wipe the entire tip area with an InLei® Softies applicator moistened with InLei® Saline Pre-treatment. See the in-depth study on tips at the end of the article.

Stap 3
4. CHECK THE LASH READINESS

Using a microbrush, check the condition of the hair: if it feels pliable and flexible, you can remove the product using a dry brush or cotton swab.

Note:
Unlike the classic technique where a timer is usually set, Korean lamination works with a stopwatch while the condition of the hair is checked periodically. It is important to stop the process at the right moment to achieve optimal results: the lashes should be manageable, but not completely without structure.

Stap 4
5. PREPARE THE POWDER MIXTURE + SECOND STEP

Mix 30% InLei® S-Powder thickening powder with 70% InLei® Lash Fix 2. The mixture should be smooth and free of lumps, not powdery.

Stap 5
6. PLACE THE SHIELDS ON THE EYELID

  • Place the shield on the eyelid while maintaining a 1 mm distance from the lash roots.
  • Spread the lashes directly onto the shield using the prepared mixture. At this stage, the lashes should be very manageable and easy to position. The most suitable tools are the InLei® Helper comb, the InLei® Tiziano brush, and microfiber applicators such as InLei® Softies. It is important to use them with extreme care, as the hair is very fragile during this phase.
  • Place the InLei® Lash Stopper and leave it on for half the processing time of the first solution.

Note:
When positioning the lashes on the shield, ensure there is enough product present. Otherwise, the lashes may stick due to the gel effect of the powder, but the curl-fixing function will not be activated. If necessary, add more InLei® Lash Fix 2 (with or without powder).

Stap 6

⮕ From this point onward, continue following the classic Lash Filler 25.9 protocol.

7. PREPARE THE TINT

Mix the desired tint color with InLei® Developer Cream 1.5% 5 vol. in a 1:1 ratio until a creamy consistency is achieved. Apply from root to tip using a brush such as InLei® Vincent. Leave on for 6–12 minutes depending on the hair structure, then remove using a brush or cotton swab.

8. APPLY THE NOURISHING STEP

Apply InLei® Lash Filler 3 using quick movements with a flat brush such as InLei® Picasso and allow a few minutes for complete absorption.

9. PERFORM THE FINAL CLEANSE

Fill the InLei® Barolo bowl with water and dispense one pump of InLei® Mousse Magica professional shampoo into a small bowl such as InLei® Solo. Wet the InLei® Fernando brush and use it to pick up a small amount of mousse. Carefully cleanse all residue until the shield is fully removed.

Note:
To achieve the correct mousse consistency, it is recommended to shake the bottle and turn it upside down while dispensing.

10. APPLY THE FINAL SEALING PRODUCT

Apply InLei® Lash Molecular 4 molecular reconstruction to all lashes using an InLei® F-Brush microbrush and comb through until fully absorbed. No rinsing is necessary.

KOREAN LAMINATION WITH INLEI®: HOW TO MANAGE ROOTS AND TIPS

For many, this may be a sensitive topic, but just like with the classic technique, it is essential to pay close attention to the lash tips to avoid compromising the treatment.

ROOTS

During Korean lash lamination, the product should NEVER come into contact with the skin. Whether you are using a cysteamine-based or ammonium thioglycolate-based product, these are highly alkaline solutions.

Always maintain at least a 1 mm distance from the skin, as these components can cause irritation. Touching the skin or working too closely significantly increases the risk of irritation or allergic reactions. This is an absolutely essential precaution to protect both the lashes and the client’s eye health.

TIPS

Have you ever heard of the “tips rule”? We also use this in the classic technique by avoiding direct application of the product onto the lash tips.

With the Lash Filler 25.9 treatment, if necessary, we usually extend the product already present during the last 3–4 minutes of processing time so it reaches the tips in a safe and controlled way.

During the Korean technique, however, the product must be applied directly over the entire length of the hair (because the lashes are spread over patches or shields, it is almost impossible to exclude the tips from the beginning). Therefore, after 1–4 minutes of processing time, we remove the product from the tips using InLei® Saline Pre-treatment. This intervention does not stop the process; it only slows it down. Since the tips are a particularly sensitive area, this is a necessary step to prevent over-processing.

Now you have all the information and tips needed to perform this treatment correctly. Experimentation is the key to improvement!

IS KOREAN LAMINATION FASTER THAN THE CLASSIC TECHNIQUE?

Every new technique requires an experimental phase: it is necessary to test, observe, and repeat until enough experience has been developed to manage it confidently and consciously.

Until you have fully mastered the movements, internalized the steps of the technique, and completely understand how it works, it is perfectly normal for a Korean lamination treatment to take longer than a classic treatment.

However, once you have mastered every step, the situation can reverse: you may be able to perform a Korean lash lamination treatment in significantly less time than a traditional lash filler treatment.

Where is the difference?
The only truly distinctive step between the two techniques is the stage of positioning the lashes on the shield.

If you are already an experienced professional with quick and precise lash placement skills, you may not notice significant differences in treatment times. On the other hand, if you are a beginner or usually spend a lot of time positioning lashes with the classic technique, the easier application promised by the Korean technique may result in real time savings.

The average duration of a Korean lamination treatment remains within the standard range: from 50 to 90 minutes, depending on the structure of the lashes and the complexity of the eye shape being treated.

KOREAN LAMINATION AND PLASTIC FILM: WHY TO AVOID IT

The use of plastic film during Korean lash lamination is a highly controversial topic. For treatments performed with InLei® products, it is not recommended.

Geen folie

Our solutions are formulated to guarantee maximum stability, allowing reliable results within well-defined standard processing times, calculated according to the characteristics of the hair such as porosity, elasticity, and thickness.

Attempting to accelerate the process would mean losing control over the speed at which the sulfur bonds break down, with the real risk of damaging the lash structure within minutes.

Another reason why we recommend avoiding film is technical safety: besides creating a greenhouse effect, the film pushes the product toward the roots, increasing the risk of skin contact — a condition that, as already emphasized, must absolutely be avoided.
